I saw this and the first paragraph hit home. An apology is just words anybody can say. Words that come easy to most, without thought. It is the behavior beyond the words that tells all. Even if the words are never spoken, behavior tells.
“…but so you’ll finally understand what it felt like to be broken by someone you once believed in.”
Most people never fully understand how their actions affected people. Even if the behavior didn’t ” break” someone else, certain actions, especially if they are repeated and/or compounded by more bad behavior have lasting negative effects. Trust, once broken, is nearly impossible to regain. That’s how it is for most people. Forgiveness may be achievable but people always remember how you treated them and if it was bad enough, they will never trust again.
