Gorgeous

Ellen and Oberon

My cousin Ellen Doughty-Hume and her horse Sir Oberon competing in the Kentucky Rolex. I can’t get over the shininess of her horse, lol. Awesome photo from United States Eventing Association, Inc. (USEA) Currently Ellen is in 17th place after dressage. She competes in cross-country on Saturday. I hope she does well 🙂

Ellen and Alistair

Ellen and her husband Alistair 🙂 I am both proud and envious. I wish I had her get up and go. She works so hard. She figured out what she wanted in life at a young age and went for it.

I’m doing it!

A few years ago my husband bought us a treadmill so we can get in shape. I kept thinking if only I could have one where I can be on the computer–writing, doing homework, or even just surfing or playing The Sims–then it wouldn’t be so boring. I priced treadmill desks–super expensive.Needless to say I haven’t been getting on the treadmill all that much because it is just boring to me, even if I watch TV or listen to music. I did by a laptop cart a couple of years ago in hopes that would help me get on the treadmill with my laptop at least. I put my desktop on the darn thing and that’s been my desk since I had to give up my office because we have had a full house. I thought i could still write/play games even with the desktop next to the treadmill. I just haven’t done it.

Today, sick of being fat…sick of feeling achy and helpless, I turned my computer cart around and positioned it next to my treadmill. I am writing this post while I walk! I am waling slow, sure, but I am getting some steps in and I am not bored. Next i am going to try to play The Sims. I can probably pick up the pace while playing a game.

New Bucket List Item

I tell you what, me and my husband are going to do this one year…maybe more.

You can volunteer to work at a lighthouse for a week or two. Awesome! Definitely a bucket list item.

Narcissistic Parents

I try hard not to be too narcissistic but the trait is strong in me. I find myself extremely fascinating 🙂 Of course I find people, their stories, their behavior fascinating and I don’t believe I am ‘stuck’ on myself. I do worry about being a narcissistic parent though, which is kind of funny considering I DON”T HAVE ANY KIDS. But the kids I have had a hand in raising (including my stepson) have been cursed with one or two very narcissistic parents. It is distressing.
