Grandma!

Ugh! Hard to believe I am old enough to be a grandma. Yikes! I have always wanted to be a grandma but not in my early 40s.

Thankfully, I am not going to be a grandma soon but my sis, who is a year younger than me, just became a grandma. I can’t believe it. Well, I believe it because I went to the baby shower, saw my niece’s pregnant belly, and now I have seen pictures of the new baby girl. My sis is over the moon and it is a joyous occasion.

But…

I remember when my sis had her daughter, the new mother. Seems like not long ago I was going to Lamaze classes with my sis Rachel, and then going to the hospital to meet Stephanie. I remember little Stephanie, not new mommy Steph…how could time have flown so fast?

And, but…

I might be a little sad, perhaps a little envious. Well, I don’t really want to be a grandma NOW but it would be nice to have my own kid, a daughter. IDK…

True, though I am already an Great-Aunt, and have been for almost a year now. Yikes, I can’t help but feel old.
