Sometimes the things you read in the news just makes you wonder what kind of world are we living in? Why are people so horrible and mean? I have been following this story about a pastor who left a nasty message about tipping on a restaurant receipt:

In short, a server at a St. Louis Applebees took a picture of a receipt with a nasty message from a Pastor. The pastor, who was in a party of 10+ and per restaurant policy her tip was automatically added to the bill, wrote on her credit card receipt, “I give God 10% so why do I have to give you 18%?” and signed her title and her name. Well a server posted the receipt on Reddit and it went viral. The pastor found out and demanded that everyone at that Applebees restaurant be fired– the server who posted the receipt was fired. This caused a shit storm of comments from people mostly siding with the server. I too side with the server as a worker in the food service industry– I know just how cheap and rude people can be. I always knew church people felt that way (as evidenced by their cheap tips and nasty behavior) but I had never seen or heard it so blatantly stated before. Why are people such jerks? And so hypocritical.
But, of course that isn’t that bad considering all the other bad news being reported. Such as:

The owner of the dog dropped the poor thing off at a shelter to be put to sleep because he saw the dog humping another and thought it was gay. Yeah, how stupid can some people be? While this story has a happy ending (a kind person adopted the dog), it just boggles the mind how ignorant people are; how they aren’t terribly concerned with rectifying their ignorance and they certainly aren’t afraid to act on their ignorant beliefs or let them show. I also wonder why some people even get pets or have children for that matter. You gotta question what this dumb ass who dropped off the dog wants to do to gay people.
Now here is a story that made me cry:
The pictures with the article– one showed a man that lived in the house walking behind an EMS worker; he had his hand on the worker’s shoulder and looked kind of frail and trusting. Poor soul! These poor people with mental conditions have no one to turn to and they get used and abused by unethical people. It is a shame. My Aunt Marlene (she was schizophrenic) was in one of those type houses in Detroit for a while because she did not have any where else to live but could not live on her own. Thankfully her house was run by a nice woman, Mrs. Griffith, that did feed and watch her charges (which is difficult I am sure). But as soon as my Mom could she got my Aunt out of there and living with family. I just think about all the people out there, those with mental issues, the homeless, that no one cares about. What kind of help do they get? Lots of times it is places like this run by mercenary people that don’t give a rats as for others; all they care about is the little bit of SSI or disability money they can get from the helpless and defenseless. Sure let the mentally ill live in squalor. No one cares anyway.
And of course these stories are by no means the worst of the news.
