If the shoe fits…

How many times have I written this one?

I can’t believe someone finally made a meme for it, ha. I don’t get why they used Bugs Bunny but oh well. I might have used an image of  shoe or Al Bundy (or even Carly Simon because of her song “You’re So Vain”) or perhaps a picture of a mirror.

Paybacks

Ha ha… so glad when someone gets a payback and I didn’t even have to do anything. Just wish it happened a little more often…perhaps it does only I am not always aware. God certainly does work in mysterious ways.

Novel Idea

I somehow stumbled upon a site called Camp NaNoWriMo a few weeks ago — it is an off-shoot of National Novel Writing Month. The site is cool and is something wish I would have thought of… it gets together all kinds of people to facilitate writing of novels. National Novel Writing Month is in November but they also have a couple of summer camp months (and I think some contest), August being one of them. You can sign up to be in a ‘Cabin’ with others for camp and they help you (as you help them) by critiquing anything you have written. I love it! I have not signed up for a cabin yet but I have been thinking of some ideas for novels. At work last night a great idea came to me in a flash…I am so excited for it is an awesome premise if I can pull it off. I thought about it all while I worked, made some notes…as soon as I got home I typed some stuff up and my idea is shaping up brilliantly! Now I need to work on some character sketches and do some research so I can really get going. I am not sure I can write a novel in a month (at least not a halfway decent novel — sure I can throw some words on 200 or more pages but I want it to be good) but I am going to have fun trying.

Something to chew on…

Posted by the Facebook page “Conscious Parenting”:

Carl Jung said, “Neurosis is a substitute for legitimate suffering.” So is narcissism. The narcissist denies and encapsulates emotional pain. The result is callousness and extreme insensitivity to others. Any time their narcissistic ego feels threatened, they attack. At the same time, when everything is okay in their world, they can be pleasant, loving people.

A person must understand the narcissist’s “illness,” which is completely unconscious. They can then be clear, firm and strong- no nonsense. Feeling statements are great because the narcissist is out of touch with their own feelings. They can then begin to understand how their words and actions affected you and how they made you feel…

OMG! I have dealt with a lot of narcissists in my life, especially lately. It makes me want to, to…I was going to say something violent but actually it just makes me want to be alone  (or just me and my husband, ha). I am not immune to narcissism either (yes, I notice some of the behavior from the excerpt I posted above in myself) — the problem with dealing with narcissists all the time is that it makes me want to hide away which ratchets up my own narcissism, ugh! A vicious cycle…a trap! I suspect lots of people feel this way because our society as a whole seems to be becoming more narcissistic.
