Neuter ’em

Dude has 30 kids and needs a break from his child support – good luck with that asshole. I guess he only makes minimum wage and some of his baby mamas only get $1.49 in support. Wow. I say “Neuter ’em”. It is BS that someone is allowed to father than many kids with no means of supporting them. And what the hell are the women thinking that hook-up with this dumb ass?

Psychological Abuse

Events in my life over the past 13 years, especially in the last year, have shown me that it is A-OK to abuse people as long as it doesn’t get physical – emotional abuse, psychological abuse, sure its all good because it doesn’t leave a mark…at least not one you can readily see.

A good overall definition of psychological abuse is hard to come by. Here are some definitions/descriptions of that are useful:

Unfortunately I have come to realize that it apparently is alright to psychologically abuse people. There is nothing anyone will or can do about it until the abuse becomes physical or someone dies. The cops won’t do anything, elder abuse won’t do anything, Child Protective Services won’t do anything – even though psychological abuse is very damaging to a developing child (anyone really) and the damage and/or abuse is passed from one generation to the next and also fosters physical abuse. So abuse away people – have at it and have fun. Create your monsters but don’t you dare ask why people don’t like you; don’t you dare ask what’s wrong with people today when you know full what is perpetuating horrible behavior; and don’t you dare play it coy and complain about societies ills when you are a part of the nasty game.

17?

Wow…some guy that came into my work last night thought I was 17 years old. Boy was I flattered. He wasn’t even drunk but maybe a little overtired.

Ha! I was chatting with a truck driver that came in to get a hamburger last night. He drives a route from Toledo, Ohio to Flint everyday so I asked him if he lives in Ohio. He lives in Sandusky, right by the amusement park Cedar Point. I was thrilled, and asked him if he goes to Cedar Point all the time. He didn’t really say but he told me where he lives–almost right next to the park but not where all the rich people live — and that he can hear the rides and people screaming, etc. I was teasing him that he lives in the ghetto of Sandusky/Cedar Point because he was not rich like many of the others on the Point. Then I felt bad and asked if he lived right on Lake Erie, which he does and even has his own dock. Nice! Then I confessed that when I was little (I was thinking junior high age,  when I first started going to Cedar Point) I always wished I lived near the Point so I could go there everyday it was open. He replied, “When you were little?… you can’t be more than 17 now.” LOL!! I was very surprised. I thanked him but then accused him of pulling my leg. He was adamant that I couldn’t be more than 17 or at least in my early 20s. He played a guessing game with me, but then asked me to tell him my age. I was not about to admit my age! He just kept asking if I was over 20? over 30? Yep. I finally told him I am old enough to have a stepson graduating from high school. I really think he was surprised. Made me feel good. The cook burst my bubble though – he said it was because I am so short. Thanks, ha.

Excitement!

I am planning trips for the summer. My husband and I already have a great trip planned for Mackinac where we will stay at the Grand Hotel and Small Point Cottage – can’t wait!!

Recent article on Mackinac Island:

I definitely want to visit the Titanic Exhibit at the Henry Ford (even though I went twice when the exhibit came through Detroit a few years back, ha — I am fascinated by Titanic), and for tea at Cotswald Cottage in Greenfield Village. I really need to spend some time at the village — was looking into a membership today 🙂

Then I saw that there is a facebook page for the old Ohio State Reformatory which led me to the website:

I am so excited because it is the prison where the movie The Shawshank Redemption was filmed. I love that movie! I thought they tore that old place down but it is still there and open for tours. I have to go there – it will be like a pilgrimage for me because I feel the movie saved my life 🙂 It isn’t very far away and I can even make a day trip. But I was also thinking of perhaps planning a camping trip down to Ohio, then on to Kentucky to the old haunted sanatorium:

And perhaps with stops at Mammoth Caves — my parents took me when I was a kid and I would love to go back — and Big Bone Lick (always been fascinated by the name, ha), a Kentucky state park.

It would be an awesome camping trip!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all moms, stepmoms, and nurturers 🙂 Remember you don’t have to give birth to be a mother – conceiving and giving birth is just biology. Becoming a true mother, one who nurtures, is a lot of work. Moms and mothering-types truly do make the world go round and we would all be lost without our mommies (by birth, adoption, choice, or whatever).

Graduation Station

Yay! I got my ‘formal’ graduation photos yesterday. I was gone most of the evening –busy busy since I picked up more hours at work– so I had to grab the mail as I left for work last night. I opened them as soon as I got to work (and showed them off a bit). They turned out alright – I am happy with them. I really love the one where I am getting my diploma cover. Now I can’t wait to receive my actual diplomas…I guess it takes 6-8 weeks. Yikes!

So much graduation stuff…still can’t believe it is done. And now my stepson is getting ready to graduate so there will be even more graduation stuff. Lots of changes for me and my family. On top of it all I have to start job search 2012 and decide what the next phase of my education is going to be. I really need to get away for a few days, ha…or lock myself in my house for some contemplative time and of course some reading and writing.
