Spring…bleh!

Everybody is excited for spring to actually get here. I am not. I am not sure why but I am still in a wintery kind of mood. It is not a bad mood either, just a kind of mood that enjoys a grey cloudy day like today. The kind of mood that revels in curling up in a warm blanket by the fireplace with a good book.

I usually like that spring is on its way but always skeptical that we have seen the last of winter. Maybe that is why I can’t get too excited over it – I am waiting for the last breathe of winter to gasp its cold snowy death. But when it is really done I will be sad because it has been a good winter. I haven’t been as sad, haven’t wanted to hibernate as in winters past.

Perhaps I am scared of spring in all its vibrance – scared it will bring change to my comfortable content world. Much too much change, I am not ready…

Good Quotes:

Someone who is hiding something is usually paranoid that it’s showing too much, or maybe not enough. ~ David Katz

Paranoia – I’m not saying I am above experiencing it but some people really take the cake on this.

Some Recent Pictures

I spent some time this week backing up my laptop (running out of room, oh no!) and uploading some pics to the internet. Here are a couple of recent pics just to liven up my space a little.

Jordan laughing in the trombone section at the pre-festival band concert.

My husband playing with Ryder. My that is a big bone LOL … Look at how high Ryder can jump!

Fun with the nephews (and a helluva big donut) at the indoor water park.

My funny Valentine.

A winter sunset… perhaps the last one, maybe spring is finally here?

In A Mood

I am in one of moods today. I have tons of school work to do but don’t feel like doing it. I need to do something fun – get away or something, but nothing seems interesting plus I feel either guilty or anxious about my school work. I guess I have been in this mood off and on for the last week. Sucks, I have to break out of it.

The highlight of my past week was the Psi Chi potluck on Wednesday. All of us involved in Psi Chi got together (and you could bring your family which I did). It was nice to get everybody together – we need to do it more often. There was lots of good food. I wish a few more people would have showed but the flu has been going around school so that had an effect on attendance. We did talk about the Psi Chi council for next year and I got to meet the guy who is running for president. He seems nice. It almost seems like he is guaranteed to get the job and he has his vice president (a friend) lined up already. It seems rather unfair, specially since I haven’t seen him around before. I would rather have my pal as president but now she is afraid to run. I would vote for her! The good thing is there is room for me on the council in some capacity, if I am around next year.

We went to my stepson’s band competition on Friday. His high school symphony band did super at the competition – all ‘ I ‘ ratings. I thought their performance wasn’t quite as good as their concert last week but they kicked butt in sight reading – that is where they play music they supposedly never seen before. All this band stuff makes me miss being in band – I must practice my trombone and sign up for band next year at school.

The town where the competition was in has an adult superstore, ha. My husband and I were thinking about stopping but decided against it because we were afraid we would be walking in or come walking out as my stepson on the school bus (with his bandmates) rode by. Wouldn’t that be embarrassing for him, hee hee.

Just kidding, we weren’t seriously thinking about going but we had a good laugh about it.  I wonder if that ever happens though? Maybe that is the town joke, you know “I saw your mom (or dad, ha) walking out of the XXX with a huge dildo in her (his) hand.” LOL

After the competiton, my husband and I went out to dinner. It was a nice evening.
