Not that unusual?

Birds falling from the sky? That is scary. According to officials from the United States Geological Survey that is not that unusual. How come I have never heard of it before now? And two incidences within a week in two seperate places seems a bit more than unusual. It does seem like an “end of days” scenario or at the very least a bad omen.
