I have been a Titanic buff since Dr. Robert Ballard discovered the wreck of the ship in 1985. I don’t know what intrigues me about the ship and it’s story but I have always found it fascinating. Here are some links to some great books about Titanic:
The Story of the Titanic As Told by Its Survivors by Jack Winocour
Lawrence Beesley, a professor on his way to America, gives his account of surviving the sinking of Titanic. It is riveting. Another good thing about it is he give a great account of what it was like to sail on the great ship. The book is a collective of survival stories.
A Night to Remember by Walter Lord
This is an awesome book that compiles many survivor accounts of the sinking. I couldn’t put it down the first time I read it.
Nicole by Candice F. Ransom
Along with the discovery of the wreck of the Titanic in 1985, this book is what got me hooked on the subject. This is an excellent fictional account of a young woman’s survival of the sinking. It is a book geared toward teens but it is a lovely read regardless of your age.
